GENERAL INFORMATION

South Park Hanover has everything he needs to be a top sire of the future. He has superior breeding being the second fastest son of the great Artsplace, out of a full sister to former world record holder and multi award winning three year old Mystical Maddy (1:50.0 $1,436,325US). Mystical Maddy has had five starters for four winners including Kublai Pan, who paced 1:49.8 as a three year old. South Park Hanover’s dam, Southbrook Matty, has had four foals to race for four winners, three of which have gone 1:55 or better.

As a racehorse South Park Hanover’s early career was hampered by a leg problem that proved hard to diagnose. However despite this he ran a valiant second in the three year old colts New Jersey Sires Stakes, individually clocked at 1:51.4. He subsequently missed the major rich three year old races. But after surgery as a three year old he hit the ground running at four and won two legs and the final of the Tioga Tirade Series and in doing so set a new track record of 1:50.2 which is yet to be broken. He raced consistently through the following three season’s frequently winning open class races in sub 1:52. As a six year old he took his lifetime mark of 1:48.4 at The Meadowlands, leading and setting a blistering speed running a 26.4 first quarter, reaching the half in 54 then running home in 27 and 27.4.

Also in 2008 he raced against and beat some of the best horses around. He lead till the stretch setting up a  1:47.3 mile before going down by a slender margin, in the beaten brigade were the likes of Mr Feelgood, Bono’s Best and Total Truth.

Cold Mountain Stud believes that South Park Hanover has the pedigree that will allow breeders a new and very viable choice for their broodmares.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Globe was a stakes winner as a two and three-year-old.

At two he won the $100,000 Niatross at the Meadowlands in 1:52.6 running the first half in a blistering 54.8s. At three The Globe won the $225,000 Matron at Dover Downs on a sloppy track in a time of 1:54.

After winning his heat of the Art Rooney, he was first past the post in the $273,983 final at Yonkers, beating the 2003 Triple Crown champion and Horse of the Year, No Pan Intended by a head.

The judges subsequently awarded it to No Pan Intended due to interference during the race that involved The Globe’s stablemate.
From a limited first season The Globe has produced some quality youngsters. They have exceptional conformation and have shown natural athleticism.

Their precocious qualities will certainly be an advantage when they get to the track.
