Cold Mountain Stud announces “Team USA” for the World Cup.
Chairman of Cold Mountain Stud, Professor Clive Palmer today confirmed that a number of pacers currently running in the US will attend the World Cup in Brisbane next year.
Cold Mountain Stud has selected 6 candidates with 3 reserves to form an ex USA team to launch an assault on the inaugural World Cup. The team will be headed by one of the fastest US pacers, South Park Hanover racing this year at Meadowlands at the season’s fastest time of 1:48.2. The Artsplace horse is supported in the team by the gelding Devilfish, last week’s winner at Chester. Devilfish is a 1:48.3 speedster with 4 wins in 10 starts this season.
Professor Palmer named the rest of the team: Gold Dust Beach and the dual world record holder Temptation (fastest records for Four Year Old and All Age classes on tracks greater than 1 mile at 1:49.1); Fox Valley Appeal and; Spirit Of A Shark (last year’s Inter Dominion hopeful). The latter two rounding off the team are currently racing in Queensland.
In the event of the need for substitutes, “Team USA” would draft in the its reserves, Camelot Hall (1:49.0), Fancy Cardshark (1:54.1), Eden Burst (1:53.0), and the sensational, Incredible Ross the 2 year old son of Western Ideal (1:48.0) and the current 3 year old world record holder, Incredible Tillie (1:49.2).
With Cold Mountain Stud and its “Team USA” making a serious challenge for the World Cup its success (and hopefully ours) will be assured.
